We cannot serve attendees and members without your expert knowledge, experience, and contributions. Thank you again for being a part of this conference.

While you probably have speaking experience, please do take the time to read through this brief speaker manual and agreement. All the information here has been created just for you—to help you get the most out of your experience and deliver an exceptional presentation.

Use this speaker manual and resources on Hopin as a guide as you prepare for your session.

Keep in mind that in addition to reading this manual, you will need to submit your acceptance to these terms via our online form (below).

All speakers MUST adhere to the dates and deadlines set in this schedule! Set reminders to help yourself remember when specific items are due.

    • Accept the terms of this speaker manual and agreement online (see form below): Friday July 30, 2021
    • Confirm session format and topic: Friday July 30, 2021
    • Register yourself as a speaker on Hopin: Friday August 20, 2021
    • Submit presentation slides for posting on the virtual conference platform (if applicable): Friday September, 17, 2021
  1. Session Formats and Speaker Preparation

All speakers will participate in the conference virtually via video-teleconference. Additional details and system requirements will be provided in the coming weeks.

We also will provide a speaker orientation, tips for making your virtual presentation as effective as possible, plus opportunities to rehearse and test your system setup. Dates, times, and other details will be coming soon.

Tell your friends and colleagues you are attending the BITCON! Follow the conference on Twitter @bitcon2021 and use hashtag #bitcon2021 for conference-related tweets, including announcements, deadlines, event information, and other news leading up to BITCON.

  1. Your Speaker Profile

This year the BITCON schedule and speaker information will be published on the BITCON website and on the Hopin virtual conference platform. Blacks In Technology  will populate the website with your information. As BITCON gets closer, you will receive instructions for logging into your account and accessing the “Backstage” area.

  1. Copyright & Agreement

By signing the Speaker Agreement, you are asserting the following:

I understand that I retain copyright ownership of the content of my presentation, and that the grant of this license does not prohibit me from using my presentation in any way or from allowing others to use it.

I represent and warrant that my presentations do not violate any proprietary or personal rights of others (including any copyright, trademark and privacy rights), is factually accurate, and contains nothing defamatory or otherwise unlawful. I have the full authority to enter into this agreement and have obtained all necessary permissions or licenses from any individuals or organizations whose material is included or used in my presentation.

By signing the Speaker Agreement, you are asserting the following:

I agree to abide by the BITCON Code of Conduct. During my presentation(s), I will not engage in any type of promotional marketing or selling of any product or service unless contractually agreed to prior.

I authorize Blacks In Technology to use my name, likeness, photograph, and biographical data in connection with the use and promotion of the program.

I agree to notify the BITCON Speaker Manager, Dennis Schultz immediately in the event that an emergency should prevent me from meeting my obligation as a session speaker.

I hereby indemnify and hold Blacks In Technology harmless from and against any and all claims, expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees), arising directly out of my negligent actions and/or the breach of any of my covenants, obligations, representations or warranties set forth in this agreement.
